Our Philosophy
Our mission is to advocate for abortion rights, assist pregnant women, and provide the public with accurate information about abortion rights. The fact that Roe was overturned means that there is no longer a federal protection for abortion access, which means states can limit or ban abortion. Roe being overturned is not the same thing as there being a federal ban on abortion.
History
Abortion is banned in Mississippi because of a Mississippi law that went into effect July 7, 2022. Abortion is still legal is some states in the U.S, but a recent Supreme Court decision overturned Roe v. Wade (1973), which guaranteed the constitutional right to have an abortion. Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization is the court case that overturned Roe v. Wade.
